Alliance Shows Off New Platform for Future Virtual Events

Legacy Foodservice Alliance, of Richmond, Virginia, celebrated its 23rd Marketplace March 16-18, 2021. The Marketplace is Legacy’s semi-annual sales and marketing conference where Legacy Distributor and Supplier Members engage and build business over a three-day period.


Due to COVID limitations, Legacy opted for an online Member event, debuting a new, proprietary platform to meet the needs of today’s virtual environment. The web-based platform allowed for one-on-one as well as group video calls, a real-time interactive agenda, and event booth customization and document availability.


New to the Spring 2021 Marketplace was an emphasis on video conferencing capabilities. This allowed Supplier and Distributor Members alike to bring multiple members from their team to the Marketplace, and allowed Supplier Members to use their meeting time to virtually share materials relevant to each customer.


A focus on inclusivity and connectivity resonated with Members of Legacy: this Marketplace set record numbers for attendees on both sides of the table. Legacy Distributor and Supplier Members sat down for a combined total of over 100,000 minutes of meetings across the three day event.


In addition to The Marketplace, The StreetWise® Sales & Marketing Connection took place utilizing the same platform and connectivity. The Connection is an opportunity for Legacy Distributor Member sales teams to interact with Supplier Members and learn from industry professionals. This year’s Connection was facilitated by Dave Miesse over two days. It too had the largest number of attendees and participation to date, paving the way for more virtual and remote activity in the future.


Legacy is looking forward to an in-person Fall Marketplace in Legacy’s hometown, Richmond, VA, October 3-5, 2021.
