Legacy keeps Distributor Members abreast of the latest in food safety
With the many food safety laws, rules and regulations impacting food service distributors, Legacy Foodservice Alliance, the Richmond-based Supply Chain Alliance, continues its program to aid Independent Food Distributors with procedures and compliance. Classes are designed to be small in size to ensure that attendees are given the attention needed for their success in planning their food safety strategies and execution.
CEO Steve Push said: “Safety is at the forefront of our community. Individuals, especially consumers, want to know that their food is clean; they don’t even want to think about the alternative.” Recent changes to laws and regulations have pressed Distributor Members to keep their products in line and their procedures up to date.
Since its founding in 2009, Legacy has focused on providing value and contributing to the good health and well-being of Independent Foodservice Distributors.
Classes began in January 2017 and have expanded to include regional Member meetings. A recent meeting was held at the Legacy Offices in Richmond, VA. Off-site training helps key personnel learn the ins and outs of keeping their products safe, all without the distractions of day-to-day operations pulling them in different directions.
