Supply Chain Group Hosts Purchasing and Marketing Conference.

Legacy Foodservice Alliance held it’s semi-annual buying and business conference in Tennessee.

The Marketplace – Spring 2016, took place March 15 – 18 at the Historic Peabody Hotel in Downtown Memphis. Over three days, The Marketplace was host to nearly 150 Independent Distributors and Supplier attendees from across the United States and its territories. “This is the first time we’ve held The Marketplace in south, outside of Florida” said Steve Push, CEO – “it was a very successful event complete with southern hospitality, great food and rich history.”

Don Hughes, COO shared; “In Memphis, we were able to kick off the event with a seminar from the folks at Technomic.” Barry Friends, a principle at Technomic and an industry veteran, moderated a daylong session aimed at informing and enlightening the independent distributor on the potential they have in the multi-billion dollar foodservice industry. Hughes added, “Being able to provide this for our Members brings value to The Marketplace. It’s more than a buying show – it’s an environment where foodservice supply chain partners can connect, share, sustain, succeed, and thrive.”

“Now the effort switches to capitalizing on the great things that happened at The Marketplace in Memphis, and we’re looking forward to spending more time in the south as we head to Atlanta in the Fall” said Push. “Things get done when we are all together, and that’s what The Marketplace is all about.”
